Facebook blame themselves for service outages



World’s largest social media network and its Instagram photo sharing site was down across the globe for up to an hour on Tuesday. Facebook was down around 11 AM IST.  Millions of users were unable to access the social media site. On login page message facebook greeted with the message “Sorry something went wrong. We are working on it”. Company said later, it was due to internal fault not an outsider or hacker attack. They quickly identify the problem soon and fix it within an hour and 100% back for everyone. 


Facebook said that “This was not the result of third-party attack but instead occurred after we introduced a change that affected our configuration systems.

Lizard Squad: An unknown hacker group had tweeted about the services breakdown and tries to take credit of facebook and Instagram service breakdown. This hacker group has hacked some high profile outages including Sony Play station and Microsoft X’box live play station.

People kept using Twitter and tweet about the facebook service failure. #facebookdown was one of the most trending #Tag for the today twitter users.



As precaution for Facebook users it is advised to change their password and review their privacy settings.
